Modi vs Shashi Tharoor vs Kejriwal vs Sushma Swaraj – Comparing Follower Statistics of the Twitter Big Guns

Fake Twitter Followers

In our ongoing series of analyzing Twitter follower trends of politicians, political parties and more, this round of comparison is between the twitter big guns of Indian Politics – Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal, Shashi Tharoor and Sushma Swaraj.

All the numbers are generated using our in-house tool twfollowers. Unlike other online websites which usually generate statistics of fake followers based on a small sample size (approx. 1000 followers), the numbers generated by twfollowers is based on the entire list of followers. Hence all the figures are accurate. The percentages given in brackets are the real indicators of fake followers, and higher the percentages, more the fake followers. So lets see how the Twitter gurus of Indian politics fare.

In the above table, while Arvind Kejriwal has the lowest percentage for the category in Column 3 (Followers who have never tweeted), Shashi Tharoor has the lowest percentages for Column 4 (Followers who have no followers themselves) and Column 5 (Have never tweeted and have no followers).

In the second table, Arvind Kejriwal has the lowest percentages for Column 2 (Haven’t changed their default image) and Column 3 (Haven’t changed their default image and have never tweeted). Shashi Tharoor has the lowest percentages for Column 4 (Haven’t changed their default image and have no followers) and Column 5 (Haven’t changed their default image and have never tweeted and have no followers)

In the last table, Shashi Tharoor has lowest percentages for all the columns. More the number of numeric characters in a twitter id, higher the probability of the twitter id to be fake.

From all the numbers we have produced above, it can be easily concluded that Shashi Tharoor of Congress and Arvind Kejriwal of AAP have a much more genuine fan following than their BJP Counterparts, however Tharoor does seem to have an edge over Kejriwal.

BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi aka Feku, as expected, wins the crown for having the most fake followers.
