After Arvind Kejriwal announced his decision on 25 March, 2014, to take Narendra Modi head-on by contesting against him in Varanasi, Modi has been forced to take a pot-shot at Kejriwal.
Addressing a rally at Hiranagar near Jammu, Modi said:
Pakistan has 3 AKs – one is AK-47, another is AK Anthony our Defence Minister. He says in Parliament the people who came and beheaded our soldiers were wearing Pak Army uniforms.
And the third AK is AK49 – he has just spawned a party and on his party’s official website – he had given away Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan. And one of his associates says there should be a referendum in Kashmir. They are speaking Pakistan’s language.
The AK-49 comment was aimed at Arvind Kejriwal, 49 being the number of days he was the Chief Minister of Delhi. One would have thought that Narendra Modi would actually address some of the questions Kejriwal has raised against Modi in the recent past including the 16 questions submitted by Kejriwal to Modi. Instead, Modi resorted to his usual cheap barbs bereft of all intellect. According to Modi, his bhakts, and some biased media houses, Kejriwal has given away Kashmir to Pakistan, since a website called AapTrends.com (and NOT AamAadmiParty.org) shows a map which shows Kashmir in Pakistan. The map in question which is being circulated by likes of Zee News is shown below:
The above map that Modi is referring to has most of India highlighted in green, but a part of Kashmir is not. That was the basis of Modi’s barb. How dumb BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate is, can be seen from the fact that his so-called-Kashmir-being-a-part-of-Pakistan barb was based on a map which shows trends of donations given to Aam Aadmi Party. The media houses like Zee News have been circulating this particular story, without reporting the fact that the map they are circulating shows a colour-coded map based on the donations received from various States of India. Also, the map is NOT on AAP’s official website which is AamAadmiParty.org but on a AAP volunteer initiative called AapTrends.com. The image below clearly shows that the map on AAP’s website is intended to show trends and that Kashmir isn’t in ‘green’ because of limited donations received by AAP from Kashmir.
Further a map which displays district-wise donations to AAP across India clearly shows that districts in Kashmir region have the least amount of donors as most of Kashmir is in black.
Meanwhile, if Narendra Modi or his speech writers had bothered to visit the official AAP website, this is the map they would have seen:
Such is BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate’s intellect that he hasn’t learnt how to read a map at his ripe age of 63.
